Alison Simpson is the VP Strategy & Future Portfolio at AstraZeneca Canada, and has worked at Campbell's and P&G prior to AZ.
Alison is a general manager with 20 years experience building teams, brands and organizational capabilitiesin Consumer Goods, Food and Pharmaceuticals. She has been responsible for a wide variety of brands from Pampers to Chunky soup to Crestor and Nexium.
Currently she is at AstraZeneca, a top Pharmaceutical company that has made many significant contributions to healthcare including the discovery of tamoxifen, significantly changing the outcomes of women with breast cancer. She joined AstraZeneca Canada in 2006 leading the Gastrointestinal franchise team and a major customer-driven change initiative. She then took on the role of Executive Director, Customer Marketing overseeing the commercialization plans for the portfolio of products in Primary Care. This included Crestor in Cardiovascular, Symbicort in Respiratory and Seroquel XR in CNS. During this time she was also involved in many organizational change initiatives as the portfolio experienced significant shifts during this time.
In 2010, as VP Launch, Alison was tasked with bringing a number of new medicines to the Canadian market including Brilinta, Vimovo, Caprelsa and FluMist and developing organizational capabilities in the area of launch excellence. In 2012 she took on her current role of VP Strategy & Future Portfolio leading a department accountable for the development of company strategy, the commercial preparation of all brands in the pipeline, the oversight of cornerstone brands and the Forecasting and Insights & Analytics teams.

Previous to AstraZeneca, Alison was at Campbell Company of Canada for 8 years and Procter & Gamble for 4 years prior to that. At Campbell’s she was responsible for the marketing of Chunky soup, Healthy Request soup, the ‘Red & White’ cooking business, Prego spaghetti sauce and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish. At P&G, Alison was responsible for product innovation on Pampers and Always.
Alison was born and raised in Brockville, ON. She attended Queen’s University in Kingston, ON earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. Alison was Team Leader for the first corporate partnership with Endeavour Volunteer Consulting leading a team of AstraZeneca volunteer consultants working with the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club. She also currently serves on the Rotman U of T Healthcare & Life Sciences Advisory Board.
