After 15 years as a successful singer and actor, Garfield Wilson founded Forward Fitness and became World Bodybuilding’s Male Model in 2009
Garfield established Forward Fitness in 2004 after 15 years in a successful singing and acting career. Throughout his entire life, Garfield was involved extensively in sport and fitness. It was a natural evolution to marry his passion for fitness and connecting with people. Forward Fitness is his channel to build a supportive health and wellness community designed to raise the bar for quality in our lives.
Garfield still spends upwards of 50 hours per week training, but never finds himself on “autopilot” for a moment. He keeps his clients (and himself) inspired by personalizing each session according to their goals, hobbies, motivation and fitness progress. Over the past five years, he has trained more than 20 of his clients through weight loss achievements of 50-80 pounds, while working to ensure they have the support they need for sustained lifestyle change.
In recent years, Garfield’s drive and determination has led him to become the 2009 World Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation’s Male Fitness Model and a starring role on CBC’s docu-series, “Village on a Diet”.
In the first video, Garfield appears with participants of Village on a Diet on Shaw TV Vancouver's Urban Rush. In the second, Garfield sings Stevie Wonder at the Motown Meltdown 2011. The third is the intro to Village on a Diet, in which Garfield plays a key role.
Simply put, at his essence, Garfield likes to make people feel really good. He judges his training success by how positive and capable his clients feel at the end of their session: As an extension of that, how they connect and cultivate this energy within their lives. Garfield honours the time people spend dedicated to fitness and considers it a privilege when they choose to work with him or his team. In Garfield’s care, the potential for fitness and personal growth is limitless.
Garfield knows what it takes to help people. In addition to his BCRPA certification for personal training, he has completed extensive continuing education courses in the following areas:
Rehabilitation: Hips, Knees and Ankles (covering assessment, rehab and prescribed exercises)
Rehabilitation: Shoulders, Elbows and Wrists (covering assessment, rehab and prescribed exercises)
Clinical Exercise courses, including:
Type 1 & 2 Diabetes
Active Muscle Release or ART (Active Release Technique)
