Jana Sinyor is a television writer and producer. She is best known for creating Being Erica, which has been nominated for 10 Gemini Awards.
Jana's advice to up-and-coming screenwriters is the following:
Talk to lots of people who are successful doing the thing you want to be doing. Don’t just sit at home writing all the time and send your stuff out – go to parties, workshops, events like the TSC. Relationships are just as important as your writing, they may be more important. Getting better as a writer is key; so is connecting with people who can mentor you, hire you. Chart a path for yourself. Don’t make your end goal your starting point. Figure out where you want to go and how you’re going to get there.
So don't wait! Pledge on these rewards to meet Jana and hear her story first-hand about how she got to where she is today.

Brainstorm a new television idea with Jana
Have a story in your head that you think might just work? Hash it out with Jana in this two-hour brainstorming session. Nothing like having a seasoned television writer work with you on your stuff. The session could culminate with a blog post or a plan going forward to get it accepted at a television network.
