How Time Auction works

1. Earn Karma

Donating and logging past volunteer hours earns you Karma Points, which you can then use to bid on auctions. $1 donated earns 1 Karma Point and 1 hour volunteered earns 10 Karma Points.

2. Bid

Bid your Karma Points to meet inspiring people, such as humanitarians, entrepreneurs, athletes, or artists. Most auctions allow every bidder to win if the goal is reached.

3. Meet

Time Auction is all about priceless experiences and rewards for the priceless philanthropy you do. Depending on the auction, meetings are done virtually or in person... or both!

This auction has ended. It collected 86 volunteer hours.
Experience
Tour the Vancouver Sun offices and grab lunch with Harold

Checkout the Vancouver Sun's beautiful waterfront offices with Harold as your tour guide and learn about how a news giant operates. Afterwards, grab a simple lunch with Harold and ask him about what his daily work is like, crazy stories he's covered, or where he envisions the Vancouver Sun going in the next 5-10 years.

Harold Munro has been with The Vancouver Sun for 28 years. He's a lover of constructive conversation and is a political junkie.

Harold became editor-in-chief of the Vancouver Sun in the spring of 2012. The Vancouver Sun has been around for 102 years, and Harold has been a part of it for 28 of those years.

Harold started at the Vancouver Sun in 1986 as a freelance reporter, covering high school sports. He then worked his way through various reporting roles in the newsroom to become city assignment editor, and subsequently, the city editor. He more recently served as special projects editor before becoming a deputy managing editor.

Today as editor-in-chief, Harold oversees the largest newsroom in western Canada, producing a daily newspaper, multi-media content for smartphone and tablet, and two websites vancouversun.com and the Chinese language taiyangbao.ca
